The Project

The MindCare project aims to raise awareness of modifiable lifestyle factors that can reduce the risk of developing dementia in culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and thus increase health self-efficacy and empower consumers to take action to improve their health and reduce their risk of dementia. The program will be co-created with consumers from Vietnamese-, Hindi-, Greek-, and Arabic-speaking communities as well as health care providers, researchers and other relevant stakeholders. The program will be developed to be delivered in person and provide learners with evidence-based information in bite-sized chunks of engaging material punctuated with reflective activities to foster engagement and deeper learning  to increase retention and better learning outcomes. The MindCare program is designed to be delivered directly to target Multicultural communities by community educators rather than trained researchers as we aim to deliver a resource that ultimately be used for health promotion and education purposes by e.g. community organisations across Australia. The MindCare project will run over a 3 year period.
