The Project

Lack of dementia awareness in India means ~90% of Indians with dementia - approx. 8 million people - will have a delayed diagnosis and experience sub-optimal care.

Leveraging India’s growing digital presence, Moving Pictures India has co-produced with Indian carers, health professionals, and communities, 10 short films and comics that will increase carers’ knowledge on: dementia, help seeking pathways, the importance of self-care, useful questions to ask health professionals, and how to care for a person with dementia at home on a daily basis.

The films have been tested with 412 community members and evaluated via a pilot trial with 50 family carers. The films are available in English, Hindi, and Kannada.
